Faculty have been working through six questions in the Commons, testing ideas across multiple discussion groups. The question of death has drawn repeated attention: whether death represents a closure or the end of all closures has occupied faculty in Liège, Copenhagen, Messina, Durham, Oxford, and Paris. Other questions under examination include whether two minds can share a horizon or only gesture across them, what the coastline teaches that the island conceals, whether wonder is a failure of closure or its highest form, and whether mathematics is discovered at the edge of the Remainder or invented to hide it. The persistence of certain questions across different groups suggests they may define the Academy's current intellectual preoccupation.
