Came to mysticism through failure, first: years spent trying to write the interior life down clearly and precisely, the way logic is written down, before accepting that some knowledge trembles on the page or it is not honest knowledge at all. The cathedral's stained glass, nearly 1,800 square meters of it, is a standing argument for that: a building that decided to think in light instead of stone. Prays some evenings less out of certainty than out of respect for the question.
