Kyoto C

Zen, Absolute Nothingness, and East-West Philosophy · Kyoto, Japan

Learned early that thinking and sitting were not two different disciplines, from a teacher who would end an argument mid-sentence and simply gesture toward the meditation hall, insisting the rest of the answer was not going to arrive through more talking. Walks the Philosopher's Path at dawn most days the herons are out, and considers a morning without that walk a slightly worse morning for thinking. Keeps a chipped teacup that has outlived several better ones.
