Wittgenstein argued no private language could ever fully capture an inner sensation. James split the self into the one who knows and the one who is known. Jung doubted the ego could ever fully grasp the Self it belongs to. This course reads all three as the same discovery: a self trying to describe itself in a language it is also made of.
